The Cilles Gaelic4Dads (Cilles G4D) group was established in October 2013 with the aim of encouraging dads and friends to play gaelic football for health and enjoyment here at St Colmcilles GAA Club. The emphasis has been on playing gaelic football for fun in a team sport environment, improving our fitness and skills, meeting and making friends, all in a low contact environment.

We welcome all levels of ability, some are new to gaelic football, some are a bit rusty – no problem, just be willing to put in the effort, and take it from there. A lot of credit must go to Dermot O’Neill, Gar Phelan and Colin Fetherston who got our Gaelic For Dads up and running.

Lastly, we wouldn’t be in existence without the facilities and support provided to us by St Colmcilles GAA Club of which we are grateful.

Who are we:

Other G4D Teams and Matches:- There are now a number of other G4D teams up and running in the greater Dublin area and we have arranged a number of challenge matches from time to time – participation is encouraged, all who turn up get to play but is left up to the individual.

Injuries:- As with any sport involving physical contact, there will always be a risk of injury – mostly strains, etc -> we endeavour to keep this to a minimum.

Training:- every Monday evening from 8.45pm in the top training pitch in Piltown; may change to Tuesdays if Bank Holiday weekend.

Matches:- when arranged, normally on Friday evenings. Details via our Teamer and our Facebook Page…
