operation transformation 2015

It all kicked off on Wednesday Jan 7th at 8pm we had about 40 participants for our group walk and 37 for our first Weigh in which was Thursday Jan 8th from 7-8pm in Piltown. We have guest speaker coming from Croke Park next week and also will have speakers from Cilles running and Danny Black over the 8 weeks. – look forward to seeing you all there!

CLUB AGM’s – As players, mentors, parents and active members of the St Colmcilles community, the G4Ms have a lot of valuable knowledge which would benefit the club. The AGM’s provide members with the opportunity to learn more about development, general working of the club, and plans for the 2015 season – as well as a chance to bring your ideas/views/concerns to the table.

LADIES AGM: Wednesday January 14th at 8:30pm in Piltown
CLUB AGM: Monday January 19th at 7:30pm in Piltown

Finally, check out the Cilles video montage made by our own Sheena Elliott – some great memories – can’t wait to get those boots back on! http://flipagram.com/f/OVKoeGRSqp

Gaelic for Mammies

“Happy New Year Everyone! We finished out 2014 in true Cilles G4M style with a flurry of activity to finish out another fantastic year!

In November 3 of our Gaelic for Mammies were part of a delegation from the Ladies Section who attended the Meath LGFA’s Presentation Night. St Colmcilles Ladies was nominated for Club of the Year 2014 for our development of ladies football, fielding more teams than ever before (The 2 full teams of G4Ms at the National Blitz were mentioned!) and the sense of pride and community at St Colmcilles Ladies from players, mentors, and supporters.

It was an incredible honour to be nominated and when St Colmcilles was announced as the CLUB OF THE YEAR 2014 we were elated! A slideshow of photographs was shown as the award was collected – including a few pics of our G4M’s team!

Our second year running Cilles G4M Christmas appeal for the Drogheda Women and Children’s Refuge Centre had an incredible response from all in the Cilles community! Over 2 collection nights we were able to fill 2 full carloads of food, clothes, and toiletries for the Refuge centre!!! All at the Refuge centre were incredibly appreciative of the collection and have sent us out a certificate of appreciation to hang in Piltown. Fantastic work everyone!!!! THANK YOU  to all the G4Ms who organised, volunteered during drop off times, everyone who shared the event on social media, and especially to ALL who donated!

Gaelic 4 Mothers Blitz 2014

Hi everyone, On Saturday, October 18th, the annual Gaelic4Mothers & Others blitz took place in Portmarnock with over 1,100 ladies from the length and breadth the country took part in a day of non competitive football.

The Cilles G4Ms took 2 teams to the all Ireland G4M blitz in Portmarnock. Huge THANK YOU to our Bainisteoir of 3 years, Paul Nasher Nash and our teammate Martina Guillick who coached the other team on the day! The Cilles mammies were as well prepared as ever with our gazebo, tent, table, and so many refreshments people thought we were a pitch-side coffee stand. Next year, BBQ!!! The sun was shining, we played some good football, most of all, the craic was mighty & the laughter never stopped…( and continued long into the night in the Black Bull for our afters!) Special mention to Clive our bus driver who became water boy, gazebo-holder-upper, nurse, lines assistant over the day! Can’t wait for next year to do it all again! In the words of the warm up on Blitz day “come on you beautiful people” !!!
